The near collapse of Equitable Life in 2000 inflicted major financial losses for hundreds of thousands of people in the UK and other EU Member States.

Halifax resident Stuart Inman is one of those former Equitable Life policyholders still awaiting compensation despite the demining conclusions of both the report Diana Wallis authored on behalf of the European Parliament and the subsequent Ombudsman's report.

Diana has called the treatment of Equitable policyholders such as Stuart Inman as "outrageous" and is hopeful that a new government in the UK will begin the process of properly compensating Equitable Life policyholders.

"The issue is no longer about the principle; the issue is about the speed and process."
